I generally don't post a lot of wordy updates here, 'cause updates are boring. But, a quick update. YouTube BS is still a thing, so I'm working on getting all current series episodes of Foamy on Facebook, Twitch, NG as well as YouTube. So if YouTube implodes there will always be a place to watch Foamy. (For those who have no idea what's going on with YouTube, it's the usual. Monetization is still an issue for everyone, new guidelines, slowly pushing out content creators and so on and so on.)

Other than that, I posted some alt-style Germaine & Pauline doodles here and have been working on various comic strips with everyone. (Usually end up on instagram, twitter & FB, but I'm lazy when it comes to posting art on NG for some reason) I know, I'm awful.

Anyway... back to work!

18 Years of Foamy!

Yep, today marks a full 18 years of Foamy! It all started way back in the day when Neurotically Yours was first released as a comic book. At the time it was a small comic, printed on a copier, hand stapled together and quite literally sold on the streets in the village area of N.Y.C. (But mostly given away.) Soon I started working with Macromedia's Flash 4.0 (which I still use today) creating cartoons, posting them to Newgrounds, moved over to YouTube, (while also posting to NG), made some ok business choices, avoided some "deals" that would have relinquished control of Foamy to some rather high profile media companies. Settled into what I do now, and here we are. So to everyone who's been supporting over the years, from the newer folks to that one girl who bought a comic in the city and stuck a Foamy sticker on her shirt in 2001, THANK YOU! Obviously I'm in this for the long term, so I should probably get back to work. Thanks again for the continued support!

Took a slight detour working on 3D anime models for some characters. So Germaine, Pauline, & Sue Z. June have decent models I can work with. Maybe have Dawn B. (the voice of Germaine) do some Facerig streams using the Germaine model. Who knows though. I tend to take creative detours to refresh my artistic batteries. So even down-time is creative time. If you missed any, check my art, or instagram for images. Other than that, working on things as usual.

‪Yeah, it's been a bit since I posted here, but...

Been working on a visual novel for Neurotically Yours with Foamy & everyone. Nothing fancy, just testing out software. So far, so good. Should be fully voiced, though my concept may be more ambitious than I’ll have the time for. We’ll see what happens.

Since the sketch series already has a ton of assets I could use for the visual novel, I may work with that style. Though I could go back to the Classic series style or reboot style. Not sure yet. I’m still fiddling with software and seeing what I can and can’t do with it. Also Foamy & Germaine have always been a series of “moments” or conversations. So it may just turn out to be some plotless misadventure of sarcastic banter and ranting guided by the choices one makes.

I’ll keep ya posted. (Keep in mind this will take awhile to get going, so don’t expect anything soon)

Work & Series Updates :

Working on a Chibi episode which I will probably rework from the ground up using the current sketch style of animation. As with the current series, adding new characters takes forever because each character is about 100-200 separate drawings that need to be scanned/cleaned/colored. Once that is out of the way, it makes future episode a lot easier to create.

With this in mind, I'm also trying to get a Pum'Kin Guy series together as well using the same workflow. Once all the classic Foamy episodes are finished and posted in HD, I want to move on to creating a secondary series for everyone. So assuming the work gets done, I'll bounce back between Pum'Kin Guy & the Chibi series, so hopefully there will be something different each week.

So I have plenty to work on for the future, though certain projects may take a back seat to the animated series. Probably the games and written books. Though a visual novel will be easier to put together once all the drawings are done for the characters.

We'll see. I could wake up tomorrow and want to work on the multitude of novels I have sitting in my mind. Back to work!

Doing work as usual. Working on continueing the Chibi series from a few years back or working on a Pum'Kin Guy series. Either will take awhile to get things together so who knows when it will happen. I have a ton of stuff planned and usually not enough hands to get everything done. So we'll see. That's about it. Posting here so folks don't think I'm dead.

2 Albums have been released and if you're helpin' out on Patreon, you get 'em both! If not, that's ok too! They're on Bandcamp! (The Foamy album is a collection of rants from the current series & the Pum'Kin Guy album is an extended version of the original EP that includes music I created and play during the Twitch streams. A lot of that type of music is on "Chibi Music For Chibi People" as well, also available on Bandcamp.)
